Summary: TipMe.lk is a voluntary digital tipping platform. Tips are gratitude-based, non-refundable, and go directly to service professionals. By using TipMe, you agree to these terms.

1. About TipMe.lk

TipMe.lk ("we", "our", or "Platform"), owned and operated by GRATIFIER GLOBAL (PRIVATE) LIMITED (Company Registration No. PV00353545, registered in Sri Lanka under the Registrar of Companies), enables users to send voluntary digital tips as a gesture of appreciation to service professionals. Tips are not payments for goods or services - they are purely gratitude-based.

2. Eligibility & KYC Verification

To use TipMe as a Receiver, you must be at least 18 years of age. You are required to complete identity verification (Know Your Customer - KYC) before withdrawing or receiving payouts.

Technical KYC Verification: Verification requires uploading a clear digital image of your National Identity Card (NIC), Driving License or Passport. This image is transmitted over encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) and stored on secure directories with strict access control. Once verified, verification status is updated in the database.

Non-Technical Compliance: Collecting this information is necessary to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines, prevent platform fraud, and ensure that funds are legally routed in accordance with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka regulations.

3. Nature of Tips

  • Tips represent gratitude only, not compensation
  • TipMe does not guarantee income or tip volume
  • Receivers are independent users, not TipMe employees
  • Tax obligations are the sole responsibility of the Receiver

4. Payments & Fees

  • Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways
  • TipMe does not store card or banking details
  • A platform service fee is applied and disclosed before payment
  • Additional charges may apply for cross-border payments

5. Payouts

Receivers may withdraw tips to approved bank accounts after verification. Payout timelines may vary based on verification status and compliance checks.

6. Prohibited Conduct & Data Abuse

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You are strictly prohibited from:

  • Offering services or items in exchange for tips.
  • Engaging in fraud, deceptive practices, or money laundering.
  • Attempting to bypass security systems, hotlinking resources, or deploying malicious payloads.
  • Web Scraping and Harvesting: You may not use automated tools, bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other data extraction utilities to copy, index, or download user profiles, display names, bios, page slugs, or visual elements.
  • Brute Force & Bot Attacks: Automated registration, login attempts, bulk form submissions, or denial of service attacks are strictly prohibited. We track system usage patterns and will block IPs violating these rules.

7. Refunds

All tips are final and non-refundable. Chargebacks are handled through the payment processor.

8. Data Protection Obligations (Sri Lanka PDPA)

In compliance with the **Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 (PDPA)**, TipMe.lk acts as the Data Controller. We process your data in accordance with the law, ensuring data quality, purpose specification, and strict confidentiality safeguards. We maintain detailed technical logs and employ encryption parameters to prevent unauthorized disclosure, deletion, or loss. For data-related inquiries, please email our DPO at dpo@tipme.lk.

9. Third-Party / External Providers Disclosures (Google & Facebook)

Our application integrates authentication services powered by Google and Facebook. When you use social login features, you agree to comply with both TipMe.lk's rules and the official policies of these external providers:

Google Developer & API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Our integration with Google API Services strictly complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy. The following disclosures describe our data handling:

Data Accessed: TipMe.lk accesses and collects your Google profile information (Google ID, display name, profile picture URL) and registered email address.

Data Usage: This data is accessed solely for user registration, user authentication, profile creation, and communication. It serves no other purposes.

Data Sharing: Google user data is never shared with third parties under any circumstances, except when legally required by law enforcement under Sri Lankan jurisdiction.

Data Storage & Protection: All accessed Google data is securely stored in our encrypted databases with strict authentication boundaries and transport level encryption (SSL/TLS).

Data Retention & Deletion: Your data is retained as long as your TipMe account is active. To permanently delete your account and all retrieved Google records, you may email us at support@tipme.lk. Data is purged within 30 days of validation.

Facebook Developer & Platform Policies

When authenticating through Facebook Login, you agree to comply with Facebook's official Terms and Platform Policies. We collect public profile information and email addresses as authorized by your permissions during the signup process.

Retrieved data is stored securely on our systems and used only to establish and authenticate your profile page. We support instant data deletion upon account cancellation or request.

10. Liability

TipMe is not liable for payment processor issues, lost earnings, user disputes, or technical interruptions. Use of the platform is at your own risk.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
